The Living World

The Living World is animistic in perspective, the belief that everything has a spirit and is alive, even “inanimate” objects.

The Living World

I feel this photo captures some of the sense of that. Stop and think: look around and imagine that everything is buzzing with life. Imagine this frequently and you will find yourself becoming more attuned to this living planet.

PS. this photo was taken at the old brickworks at Sydney Park in St Peters.

Wollemi Pine

Wollemi Pine, originally uploaded by smallfox2.

Long thought extinct (most recent fossils date back 70 million years), this plant was accidently rediscover in the Wollemi National Park in New South Wales. Thirty two trees (I think) were found, and found to be geneticly identical. On the brink of extinction, these trees have now been cloned and this example is in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
