Featured photo – The Journey Continues

The Journey Continues by Craig Hender showing refugees headed for Chad in Africa. An amazing picture – brilliantly and beautifully made regarding a people’s struggles just to find a place to survive. It’s an episode in the story of our planet that few of us are ever aware of.

See more of Craig’s work on his RedBubble profile.

Featured photo – Purple Rain

Purple Rain by Jon Staniland – I’ll leave you to read the description on the photo page. This is such a lovely image and I thought that I would share this with you. Russell has some wonderful macro shots. Indeed not only macro, but he has a good eye and a good lens for this type of shot.

See his RedBubble profile, too.

Bobtail

Bobtail, originally uploaded by smallfox2.

A shingleback skink, also known as a Bobtail in Western Australia, where this pic was taken.

My dad’s dog, Boris, sniffed curiously at this little fellow but back off when it reared up hissing…hehe!

More recent work

Three new pics that I have uploaded onto my RedBubble page.

The way it’s always been – an older photo that I found was much better after converting to black and white and then messing about a little more. This penguin is at Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

Grace 2 – in Sydney, a sort of deco business castle that looks to me like something from a Terry Gilliam film. Or something he’d use. The number of times I have wandered around there and never really noticed it…

Coalescing – Self-portrait – I noticed my reflection in a kitchen cupboard so I took the shot. With some adjustments I managed to make the background dark and the end result more colourful than when I started.

Butcher Bird on a Wire

Butcher Bird on a Wire, originally uploaded by smallfox2.

Or a clothesline. Taken in Western Australia in my mother’s back yard. They feed these birds and the magpies that come daily.
